On Jan. 22 2008, the first piece of Low-E glass self-developed by Northglass is smoothly off the production line with all indexes meets the requirements. This means not only that the 80-day great struggle of the coating production line has resulted in a whole victory, but that R&D level of the coating production line of Northglass has reached the design requirements, and that the line has been capable for commercial manufacturing.
As introduced by general manager Shi Yu’an, the coating area of the produced Low-E glass is up to 2.54 X 3.66 m, which is the largest area available in China at present. The color difference of the coating uniformity is smaller than 1, far beyond the standard of less than 3 in China; the irradiation rate is only 0.07, also far beyond the national standard of 0.12. At the same time, the circle time is shortened, only 60 seconds for one piece of glass. In particular, the self-developed cathode especially for the coating line and the high-tech cleaner are also put into use and has achieved good effects. The equipments not only reach a domestically advanced level, but also reach a world-class technical level.
It is said that the coating line will be put into commercial operation after the Spring Festival, and besides sales of Low-E glass, a second coating line will be put into construction in Luoyang Subsidiary, and is estimated to be completed in October. Editor’s notes:
